Thurf Pan Di Turfside plots breakthrough
Seaview Gardens-based recording artiste Thurf Pan D Turfside is currently promoting his latest single, called So Thick.
"It's about sex. Surprisingly, a lot of people think the topic taboo, and yuh out of line if you talk bout it inna a song. But I have to talk about the females dem who know fi please dem partner in the bedroom," he said.
The singjay told THE STAR that the track has been gaining steady traction in street dances, and he is hoping that it will be his breakthrough single.
"I like the steady rotation that it a get. A whole heap a promotion me and my team put in. We nuh sleep a night time, and the woman dem a gwan bad pon it. Me just a gwan put in the work and just pray it give me the buss me a look," he said.
So Thick was produced by Nofolly Entertainment and released in March.
Thurf Pan Di Turfside, whose given name is Oneil Brown, said he has a passion for the arts since he was a teenager. The entertainer said that growing up in Seaview Gardens, he had many musical role models around him and was always fascinated by the work of artistes such as Bounty Killer and Shabba Ranks.
"The community is rich in musical history, so from time to time, you would always see a man a rehearse pon di corner dem. Music inna me blood from long time, but me take a few years and hone me skill, den me start release the single dem," he said.
