Diamond-selling artiste Charly Black and his Team Unstoppable are gearing up to host a huge stage show in Alexandria, St Ann, on Saturday. The Momentum Reggae Festival is set for the Charlton, Alexandria, Market House.

Speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR in a recent interview, the entertainer, who hails from Trelawny, said that the show is very important to him as it not only gives young artistes a platform to showcase their talents, but it also breathes new life into the rural community. Pointing out that many of the parishes on that end of the island have very few stage shows, Charly Black said his aim in hosting the event is to re-energise the entertainment scene in these parishes.

"I decided to start the show because Jamaica have less stage shows now, and yuh nah see many new artiste. Yuh hear dem on the radio, but yuh nah really see them on a stage," he said.

"Di people dem in Westmoreland and MoBay have their show, but there's not much coming from Trelawny to St Ann. I want to do my part to change that. People down here need shows, too."

Already, acts such as Ikaya, Tifa, Wayne Marshall, Tanto Metro and Devonte have been booked for the event. The show will also showcase a number of up-and-coming acts, including Buck 1, Tonii Munroe, Shudly, Naveesh and Migrain.

Charly Black is encouraging persons to come out and support the event.

"It just going to be me and my artiste fren dem a hold a vibe in Charlton, Alexandria, on Saturday. It was very beautiful last year, and I know it's going to be even better this year. The concert is about Jamaican artistes showing love back to Jamaica," he said. "A more than 10 artiste on the bill, and we nah kill nobody. Admission is free before 11; after 11 is $1,000; VIP is $1,500. We making it a bigger brand because next year, we gonna turn it into a band show. At least this side of Jamaica will have a show each year to look forward to."
