Sheba is the latest artiste to release a Christmas-inspired track. Since complaints about the dancehall space losing its 'Christmas spirit' have surfaced, several artistes, including Devin Di Dakta, Elephant Man and Shauna Chyn, have been releasing tracks inspired by the festive season.

In an interview with THE STAR, Sheba said that she felt she needed to do something to inject some life into the music scene leading into December, as she is accustomed to hearing artistes putting their own creative spin on traditional Christmas songs.

Reminiscing on the success she obtained from the Like Christmas collaboration with Vybz Kartel in 2010, the dancehall artiste, formerly known as Gaza Sheba, said that despite the decline, there is still a market for Christmas tracks.

"Probably Jamaicans nuh really feel Christmas again because Christmas a bruk time fi a lot a people, but we have the songs and we want the people dem enjoy dem self same way. Despite the challenges for this year, me just decide say me wah do something different," she said.

"From the year start me a hear people a say the artiste dem nah do nuh Christmas nothing again, and people a hit me up and a ask when me a go do a part two wid me and Addi. So me and DJ Sky from Sky Bad Music Production just decide say we a go do da likkle project yah."

The track will see Sheba borrowing from her 2010 hit with Vybz Kartel as she creates somewhat of a part two to the raunchy Christmas track.

"Addi is not really a part of the project even though he's featured on it. Mi nuh wah give away too much about that part because me want the people dem listen it for demself. But the song is a really nice song, and I think people ago love it. People a build up expectations about it. I been posting pieces of it, and people a anticipate it, so we about fi drop it soon. We been a work pan Christmas thing because dem song yah still relevant," she told THE STAR.
