Reggae singer Hezron had high expectations for the promotion of his album, 'The Life I Live Continues' (Soulful Salvation), when it was released in March last year. Displeased with his record label's marketing strategy and the album's reach, Hezron has decided to promote the project himself.

The Taxi Driver singer will be performing songs from the album as part of a two-hour online concert that will be streamed live on his social media pages on November 29 at 8 p.m.

"It never really got a chance because of the backing. The people I gave it to never supported it," Hezron told THE WEEKEND STAR. "It's a problem that many artistes deal with, too. You give an album to a label, and they hold on to it and wait for you to get bigger before they release it. You know social media is good for marketing, so this will be a form of promotion for the album."

The Life I Live Continues (Soulful Salvation) features 17 tracks, including the popular song Taxi Driver and the socially-conscious track MoBay.

During the stream, Hezron will also be performing other songs from his expansive catalogue.

GOOD SHOWCASE

"I'll be doing songs that have resonated with fans over the years," he said. "It's gonna be a proper showcase with the Voice Grip band, and it'll be recorded so people who are interested can get it afterwards."

Aside from planning this free, online concert, Hezron has been actively promoting his latest single, Life Is A Poker Game, that was produced by LTK20. The track offers valuable life lessons Hezron has learnt personally and vicariously.

"I had the concept years ago. I was questioning a lot of things Why is life so hard? Why do we have to struggle? I was having the conversation with my father, and he was the one who, basically, told me life is like a poker game and you have to know how to play your hand," Hezron said.

"It has been resonating with a lot of people and has even been approved by BBC 1Xtra. This is a nice follow-up behind Taxi Driver. Some people even saying this is the ultimate song. I am just working to keep the standard up."
