Members of the Ravers Clavers dance outfit are elated after having their dancemoves showcased at the Miss World pageant held in Sanya, China, on Saturday.

In an opening dance ceremony, each region showcased moves synonymous with their territory, and the Caribbean contestants kicked it Ravers style when it was their turn.

Miss Jamaica World Khadija Robinson, alongside Nurianne Arias Helder (Aruba), Morgane Theresine (Guadeloupe), and Jalyssa Arthurs (Belize), started their dance number with Flairy, a 2017 dance move created by Taje Pinnock, popularly known as 'Silent Ravers'.

"It's a joy to see the work gone to a different level. Nuff love to Kadijah Robinson and the rest of the ladies with her," he told The STAR yesterday.

He admitted that he never fathomed seeing the move on such an international platform. "I did not imagine that, but I knew it would somehow get there if I kept focused and put in the work," he said. "This just proves that we have to create some dances that people can relate to, not some bag a foolishness that's hard that people can't do. The next thing is that you have to believe in yourself and your team," he continued.

One member of the Ding Dong, led team, Chevoy 'Kool Ravers' Grant, is also happy as his 2017 dance move 'Fling' was also performed by the contestants.

"It was the first the thing I saw as I wake, and the only thing I could do was smile and fling with them," he told The STAR. "While watching the video, I said to myself, 'Kool, these are the most beautiful women in the world flinging their shoulder, representing for the Caribbean, and Jamaica was at the front, leading'."

MORE RECOGNISED

The Caribbean troupe also included dances like 'Genna' Bounce and Lowe Mi. Robinson placed fourth and was crowned Miss Caribbean Queen, while Mexico's Vanessa Ponce De Leon copped the 2018 crown.

Meanwhile, Silent Ravers said he feels more recognised since the success of 'Flairy'.

"I'm hardly in Jamaica, I leave for Fort Lauderdale this weekend, and I just want the world to know that a lot more moves are in the lab, and we just getting started."

Kool Ravers is predicting his next dance move to be just as successful as 'Fling'.

"I am planning to drop my next big dance called 'Out There' because I think I can do it again and even better. I'm now mastering my craft, and 'out there without fear' is my new way of life for the New Year."
