Mr G joins ‘Fully Bright’ initiative
Veteran dancehall artiste and producer Mr G has joined the 'Fully Bright' school tour that is aimed at promoting the importance of education among children.
"Is a serious breakdown a gwaan inna society enuh, and if we continue pon this path, it only a go get worse. So, some man weh feel like say it nah go affect them because dem a make some shillings right now, the same dunce thing weh dem a promote, when some people 'round dem start be really dunce the real way and don't look pon things the correct way, it may cause some a dem dem life," he reasoned.
He said he joined the project after he observed the work being done by reggae artiste Shaka Pow, who is the founder of the Fully Bright movement.
"I actually saw when he was posting the stuff that he was doing with the kids, and I thought it was a good move and a good initiative to me. We all can't act like we a fool, and a act like we no see society a crumble. And most a the time when we see people a do good, we act like we no see it and we no want to join. I thought I could add my time and my talent to that initiative. I thought it would be time well spent and served," he said.
Mr G joined the tour at the Innswood High School in St Catherine recently and had a banter with the children, accompanied by a performance. He pointed out to them that they have to develop high-quality skillsets that will be in demand, as they may have to compete with artificial intelligence for jobs when they enter the labour force as adults.
"Artificial intelligence a come take most people job, so you have to put yourself in a place where society will need, and not want, you. So don't waste unno time; capitalise, because being in high school means you don't even have that long, so you have to make hay while the sun shines," he advised.
