Card Unit to release dance songs
Local dancers Card Unit are gearing up to release two new dance songs in support of their recent dance projects. According to Card Unit, every new dance will be released with a new song, since this will help to secure their projects.
"When you do your dances and try to promote them without a song, you have some dancers who watch you and steal the moves and call it something else on a song. So what we have decided is to make a song for each of our dances," founding member of the group, Cash Diamond, told Dancers Paradise.
Card Unit is working with recording artistes Moshan and Devin Di Dakta, who will release singles for their dance moves Fix Things and Knock It, respectively. However, they will also use both singles to promote their recently released choreography called 'Straight 90'.
acrobatic moves
Comprised of members Cash Diamond, Clubz, Swizzle, and Spade, Card Unit is known for their acrobatic dance moves and have made relative breakthroughs in corporate Jamaica, performing in ads for telecommunications giant Digicel.
In addition to gracing billboards advertising Digicel products, the group is also working on making their acrobatic moves more consumer friendly.
"At the end of the day, we are known for the acrobatic moves, but we have to maintain what is truly dancehall. We are coming from the school of Passa Passa, so we want to make our moves simple so that even the granny can catch it. That is the way Bogle wanted it, and that is how we will do it," Cash Diamond said.
The group is now yearning to execute its first teaching tour of Europe. Card Unit is also grooming a new set of dancers called Young Unit.
