Jerk Chicken Pasta
"When me younger, me never have enough food cause a six a we me madda have. The food did have to share too much.
Me did have two older sister and dem used to get more food than me and me used to cry... So me start cook me own food," said dancehall artiste Razor B, who says he has been cooking since age 10.
For him, the kitchen is his favourite place because he loves to cook and even more so, he loves to partake.
When THE STAR visited him, we could quickly tell that Razor B knows his way around the kitchen and he had no qualms admitting that.
"The next celebrity chef, I should be on that. Because I am the best chef, hands down," he bragged while fetching water to get the pot a bubbling.
Clad in his apron and chef pants, the Bruk Back singer was ready to prepare Jerk Chicken pasta.
"Penne Pasta, Spinach and the chicken season already and inna fridge cause you know chicken haffi marinate," he said. "Me ago mek a little Caesar Salad, you know a lettuce the thing deh," he added, pointing to the ingredients neatly lined out on his kitchen counter.
"Me use sundry tomatoes inna it too but me go a di store yessideh and me no see no sundry tomatoes so me ago be creative and mek me own...Bowy, me jerk chicken well seasoned me a tell you the truth, me nuh haffi ask nobody that," he said.
He made the chicken look so good, especially when he added the alfredo sauce. In no time, the entire kitchen smelled as though we could eat it.
"Yuh haffi taste di pot fi mek sure say yow, it perfect. Mek sure say it pepper perfect, mek sure the seasoning perfect inna it," he said while tasting and nodding, seemingly suggesting that it was indeed on point.
Soon afterwards, the meal was ready and I couldn't wait to taste it.
"Whoii, Jesus!"
were the first words that came to mind when I sampled Razor B's Jerk chicken pasta with parmesan grated cheese sprinkled on top. I think it is safe to say, our STAR of the Month is indeed a STAR in the kitchen.
"Me a tell oonu, di food shot and listen me no waan nobody a run come a me yard bout no food, food, food. Wait until the restaurant open," Razor B said.
