Nurse Tutors Wanted
"The trained nurse has become one of the great blessings of humanity, taking a place beside the physician and the priest" - William Osler
In furtherance of producing more persons trained to care for the sick, a newly established nursing school with branches in Kingston and St Elizabeth, is currently on the look-out for nursing tutors to teach practical nursing.
THE STAR, this week, in its Jobs to Go feature is making a match between employers and employees. After searching the Gleaner Classifieds for job vacancies, our news team connected with an administrator employed by the institution.
"The basic requirements - we need a practical nurse with at least five years experience. They must have the subjects including Maths, English and a science subject, preferably," the administrator said.
"They need a tertiary level education. You have several nursing schools that are out there. When you go to one of them, you get your diploma through them with the right CXC subjects."
According to the classifieds ad, salary for a practical nurse at the institution begins at $35,000.
The administrator told our news team that persons interested should posses excellent interpersonal skills.
"We want someone who is outgoing because they're going to deal with the public first hand," she said.
"When they (the public) come in for information or to get registered or stuff like that, they might want to talk to the teacher."
Interested persons can contact the institution at (876) 519-6686 for further information.
