Nail technicians wanted

Every woman knows that an essential part of her grooming includes her nails. Men, too, have caught on in more recent times, seeking out professionals to prepare cuticles and file nails to a refined shape. Nail technicians are in a big business.

This week, THE STAR has again sought to make linkages between employers to employees in its Jobs and Careers section. Following a search of The Gleaner Classifieds for job postings, our news team reached out to Afro-Therapy Hair Care Centre, located in Portmore, St Catherine.

Ordinarily, nail techs carry out manicure and pedicure services and are tasked with improving a client's physical appearance by aesthetically improving their nails. Beyond just that, a nail tech is expected to engage clients and other members of the salon to provide customers with a must-come-back experience.

"We are a natural salon that specialise in natural hair. I'm looking for a nail tech, maybe somebody who can come in with their own table and set up their own space to become part of the team," said one of the entity's administrators, who requested to remain unnamed. "We need one inside the salon. They have to be professional because it is a professional salon. Uniform wise, they should come in full black, or black and white, for a certain look,"

The candidate may be male or female, of any age, and is encouraged to bring along clientele of their own. "She can have her own clients as well as ours, too, because persons come in all the time looking for a nail tech once you can do nails good," the administrator explained.

Being pleasant with a knowledge of the craft helps in landing the job, too. "We need someone who is trained in nails already and has their clientele and can do them properly," said the administrator. Interested persons may contact the entity at (876) 949-4172 for further information.
