Attorney charged with fraud

Sixty-five-year-old, attorney-at-law Earl Melhado was yesterday arrested and charged by detectives from Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) for fraudulent conversion.

Melhado was arrested yesterday morning by detectives from MOCA in the Corporate Area. This operation was the culmination of months of investigations by MOCA into allegations of fraudulent conversion of client funds following the sale of a property in 2012.

He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court next week.
