Cop not in custody

The policeman suspected of fatally shooting a man in Pembroke Hall, St Andrew, on Thursday night is not in custody.

According to the Corporate Communications Unit, the suspected cop has not been arrested but has been questioned by the police.

The man was shot and killed during a confrontation with a policeman. Official reports are that about 5:55 p.m., 43-year-old Christopher Comrie, of Colbeck Avenue, Kingston, was engaged in an argument along Ken Hill Drive, Pembroke, when he was shot and killed.

The Independent Commission of Investigations told THE STAR that investigations have been opened into the matter, but no arrests have been recommended by the organisation.
