Two men killed in St James

As the end of the year draws closer, the body count in St James continues to increase as two more murders were recorded in the parish last Monday.

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force reported that a 23-year-old man was killed in Salt Spring in the parish, while an unidentified body was found in New Rumble.

The 23-year-old man has been identified as Ricoy Smith of Tennament district. Reports from the Montego Hill police are that Smith and three other men were sitting in front of shop when armed men travelling in motor car pounced upon them and opened fire.

The men were taken to hospital where Smith succumbed to his injuries.

The other men were said to be seriously injured.

Meanwhile, detectives in the parish are trying to figure out the circumstances surrounding the death of the unidentified man.

The body was found clad in a blue shirt, brown pants and a pair of blue and white shoes.

The detectives surmised that the man is in his fifties.
