Teenager disappears after leaving home for school
Have your seen Aliyah Jennings? The 14-year-old Gaynstead High School student has been missing since March 25, and her parents are at their wits' end.
Her father, Andre Jennings, said that he is unable to think straight, and he is pleading with whomever has her to contact the nearest police station or send her home.
"I can't even focus at work. I just want her to come home. Please remember that Pinky (Aliyah's nickname) has a family, and we are very worried. Her mother is just crying, and just take out her sorrows in reading the Bible. Every time mi look in her room and don't see her, mi body get weak," he said.
FIRST DISAPPEARANCE
According to Jennings, this is the first time that his daughter has gone missing. But, he said that like most teenagers, she had a rebellious side.
"She came home late the Friday before, and her mother had spank her and told her to wash her clothes the Saturday morning. She told me she didn't want to wash them, and I told her she needed to, because it was the machine that was washing it. She left for school Monday morning, and we haven't seen her since," he said.
He told THE STAR that everything appeared normal when she was leaving, and he even did a routine search of her school bag, which only contained school supplies.
"I usually search her bag because she always carried a sweater to school, which was against the rules. Her teacher had already taken away three of them. When I went to check her school the Tuesday morning, I realised that she did not turn up for school the Monday when she left out," he said.
Aliyah is from Emerson Avenue in New Haven, Kingston 20. She is of brown complexion, slim built and is 5 feet 2 inches tall.
Anyone who may have seen her or knows her whereabouts is being asked to contact the Duhaney Park Police Station at 876 924-1423 or 119.
