Weekend Escape: Bob Marley Beach - A great spot to relax

“This is the perfect place to relax,” said Karen, who was visiting the Bob Marley Beach in Bull Bay, St Andrew, for the first time.

The welcoming environs is just what she said prompted her friend to invite her to the beach, which is located just metres from the main road.

Even though it could do with some sprucing up, persons there said they enjoy the water and the sand regardless.

Gladys, who has been operating her cookshop at the beach for years, said that it is a popular spot. She said that during the week days, and especially on Sundays, people flock the area.

“A lot of people come here during the weekend and they seem to enjoy themselves. There are many persons we see coming back multiple times,” she said.

One of the best things about the beach is watching the sun set, according to one of the patrons.

“Having the sea breeze on my body and just watching the sun fall behind the mountains is so romantic,” the woman said.

Chantia Foster decided that the beach was so wonderful, she needed to carry her baby niece to take in the scene.

Even tough at face value the beach needs some fixing up, according to Ayanna Thomas, who has been living close to the beach for more than 30 years, some visitors from the United States said they enjoy the area and would definitely be back.

“I believe that the beach can be enjoyed by going in the water or just soaking up the sun. We have been here from morning and I would definitely come back and invite someone along,” Shanee Smith from New Jersey said.

Gladys said that “People deh here till all 3 in the before day, and no one trouble them. People come and sleep here and leave in the morning. This is a great spot to relax with friends or your partner,”

There is no charge to access the beach.
