February 21, 2024

The police in Mile Gully, Manchester have arrested and charged two men for their involvement in a robbery at school in the parish early February.

The man have been identified as 32-year-old Shyvon Brown, otherwise called ‘Junkie’, from Grove Place district, and 28-year-old Ahbogo King from of Ellen Street, both in Manchester.

Brown is charged with school house breaking and larceny while his co-accused was charged with Receiving Stolen Property.

It is reported that about 5:30 p.m. on February 9, staff members securely locked the administrative office and left.

It is further reported that the principal returned about 6:30 a.m. the following Monday and discovered that the lock had been removed, the office had been broken into, and several tablets, a phone, a laptop, and a large quantity of food items stolen.

Acting on information, lawmen conducted an operation on Sunday, February 18, during which Brown was held and the stolen items recovered.

He later led them to King’s business place, where two tablets were found in his possession. King was taken into custody and later charged.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the Mandeville Parish Court on Wednesday, February 28.
