Two dead in St Catherine crash identified

The injured men were taken to the Linstead Hospital in St Catherine where they succumbed to injuries received.

The two men who died in a vehicle crash near Bog Walk in Catherine have been identified, the St Catherine North police confirmed. 

They are Javon Smith, a 26-year-old labourer from West Prospect district in the parish and 35-year-old, Kewayne Wright from St Mary. 

It is reported that about 6:30 a.m., Smith was driving a Yamaha motorcycle with Wright as his pillion.

When upon reaching a section of the Tulloch Main Road, the motorcycle collided in the left side of a Toyota Noah motor truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Both vehicles were damaged by the impact.

Both Wright and Smith, who suffered severe injuries, were taken to the Linstead Hospital where they succumbed to injuries received.

The driver and passenger in the Noah also suffered injuries but were treated and released. 

The Bog Walk police are conducting investigation in the matter.
