Passengers escape serious injury in Portmore toll road crash

The police say over 30 people escaped serious injury in a bus crash along the Portmore leg of Highway 2000 on Thursday morning.

At the same time, they are urging the passengers to collect personal belongings that were left at the accident scene.

The police say the items, including school bags, have been secured and can be retrieved at the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch.

The police say about 7 a.m., the bus was travelling along the roadway from Portmore to Kingston.

Upon reaching the vicinity of the wharf, the vehicle veered to the left and crashed.

The injured, including several students who were passengers, were taken to hospital.
