Disturbance at Kingston Central lock-up leaves policeman and inmate injured

The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau and the Independent Commission of Investigations are looking into the incident that left a policeman and inmate injured during a disturbance at the Kingston Central police lock-up on Tuesday.

It's reported that the incident occurred about 9:20 p.m., after the police confiscated several illegal items.

Police personnel attempted to control the situation during which a police constable was injured on his left ear.

The inmate suffered a head injury during the melee.

Both men were taken to hospital for medical attention.
