Quarrel leads to arson attack

A St Ann man has been charged with arson following an incident in his community on February 25.

He has been identified as 25-year-old Obrian Walters of Walkers Wood. Reports from the St Ann's Bay police are that at 12:15 a.m., Walters got into a physical altercation with two brothers. Following the altercation, he threatened to burn down a business owned by their mother. Later that day, the woman securely locked her business and left for home, only to be informed later that her shop had been set on fire.

The police and the fire department were alerted, and the fire was contained. During an investigation into the matter, Walters was arrested, after which he confessed to the crime during a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney and was subsequently charged. His court date is being arranged.
