Italian club Lazio are said to be ready to terminate their contract with Reggae Boyz target Ravel Morrison, as they reportedly look to get him off their wage bill.

Morrison, who is being courted by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and who is said to have agreed to represent the country, is a former England youth international and was once described by legendary Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson as one of the most gifted players in his generation, during his days as a standout youth team player for the club.

The 25-year-old, however, never managed to live up to his potential and after signing to West Ham in 2012, he was sent out on a number of unsuccessful loan spells across the United Kingdom before Lazio decided to take a gamble in 2015.

It was soon reported that the player was unsettled in Rome and was looking for a return to England with a loan move to Queens Park Rangers materialising. Morrison was last year loaned out to Mexican club Atlas, scoring three goals in 18 matches amid reports that the Mexicans were hoping to renew his loan deal.

Lazio are, however, looking to sever ties with the midfielder and there have been fresh reports that Portuguese club Vitoria are looking to secure his services.

In April, JFF General Secretary Dalton Wint reported that Morrison had secured a Jamaican passport and was available for selection to the national senior team.
