Coach of Molynes United FC Garnet Lawrence said despite feeling a bit disappointed in not securing an early promotion to the Red Stripe Premier League after being handed their first loss of the campaign in their fourth game, they are confident in doing it at home on Sunday.

Molynes went down 3-1 to Faulkland FC in the JFF Red Stripe Premier League Play-offs at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay, on Wednesday.

Odane Snow gave Faulkland the lead in the 42nd minute.

Molynes found the equaliser four minutes into the second half through Tyrique Wilson. However, seven minutes later their captain and key defender Sergio Frankson was sent off after picking up his second yellow card and things got even worse when Faulkland's leading goalscorer Ewan Barton found the net three minutes after coming on in the 71st. The super substitute completed his brace in the 78th minute from the penalty spot to keep the western champions premier league's hope alive.

Lawrence, who believes the heavy grass cover on the field made things a bit tough for the KASAFA Champions, said the sending off of their captain messed up their game plan.

"The game started a little bit flat for us. A lot of grass on the field that kind of hampered us a bit. After going down one in the first half we got a goal back early in the second, but unfortunately, our captain went out with a red card and that changed the whole game plan and meaning of the game," said Lawrence.

Despite having to play without their captain at the back on Sunday, Lawrence believes the character of his team will come to the fore as they look to put on a show against Manchester-based Downs FC at the Constant Spring Complex.

"The good Lord gave us three wins in a row, coming into this one and it must be for something. Our next game is against Downs at home. We just have to finish it off, punishing them and then round off our campaign against Vere," said Lawrence.

"Yes, he is very inspirational to the team but all our players are leaders. We would not want him to be out but this would be a good game for him to be out so someone else can take up the mantle," he added.
