After four men tried and failed, Claudette Anderson, the only woman to bowl to Jamaica's most successful cricket captain Tamar Lambert, got him out in a bowl-off in between innings at the SDC/Wray and Nephew National Community T20 Cricket competition at the Dumfries Oval in St James, on Sunday.

Anderson, who brought back memories of herself playing cricket on a Sunday evening when she was a young girl, was impressed with what SDC has been doing for these communities.

"It was very good. I enjoyed it and as they say sometimes, it takes a woman's touch," Anderson said. "Yes, when I was younger I played like Sunday evening time in our district where I am from (Deeside, Trelawny). We usually use coconut bat."

"Those days you had the whole community coming out and enjoying the cricket. Kind of like what we have here today because back then that was the only sport really," she added.

SDC Community Cricket ambassador Tamar Lambert said getting bowled by Anderson was all part of a fun-filled day and excitement in Dumfries.

"For me, it was just fun. You want to give someone that opportunity to come to the SDC Community Cricket, and they will be able to tell their kids and grandkids that they have bowled to Tamar Lambert and actually get him out," Lambert said.

"It's just one of them things where I give away my wicket today," he added, with a chuckle.
