W ith Tivoli Gardens in a precarious situation in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL), they called back a familiar face to help rescue their season.

Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey returned to the club as technical director last Thursday and watched as Tivoli fought Molynes United to a 1-1 draw yesterday at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex. Bailey who led the club to two titles, says that there is much work to be done to improve the team's current position.

"Based on what I have seen between Thursday and [yesterday], there is a lot of things I see that need to be adjusted and corrected," he said after the game. "We have a good team, we have a good squad. We have a lot of talent. We just need to get them more motivated and more focused. Once we get that achieved, I think we will be on the right track."

Bailey told STAR Sports that Philip Williams will remain as head coach.

Drop zone

Serging Frankson put Molynes in front in the 26th minute when he converted from the penalty spot after Ryan Brown was fouled in the area by Tivoli centre back Ranike Anderson. Newton Sterling levelled the match just before the half-time whistle, finishing from close range. The result kept Tivoli in 10th place with nine points, just one point above the drop zone.

Williams said that the team welcomes the experience of Bailey. "We welcome his experience and all the advice he has to give us," he said. "He has a wealth of experience and it's something positive for us, and, hopefully, we can get this team going in the right direction."

Meanwhile Molynes managed to stop their losing streak and ensured that they complete the first round in second place, with 20 points. Head coach Lijasu Simms said the result was a good starting ground after losing three straight games.

"A point on the road is always good," he said. "We lift our hats to the players. It's a good start back from where we are coming from, and it has to start somewhere."
