Although an opportunity awaits him in Qatar, national defender Damion Lowe says that he is still open to other options that may rise following his spell with United Soccer League (USL) club Phoenix Rising FC.

Having joined the club on short-term deal in September, the 27-year-old Lowe has signed a pre-contract with Qatari club Al Markhiya and is expected to join them next January. However, he says that he says he is permitted to venture into another direction should the chance arise.

"It's not cast in stone. If another opportunity comes, we have an agreement with the club that we're allowed to venture into it," Lowe told STAR Sports. "Qatar was the most attractive one at the time."

Enjoying the environment

Currently, Lowe is on the verge of capturing a championship as Phoenix advanced to the USL championship final after defeating El Paso Locomotive FC in their western conference championship game Saturday night. After months without football since his release from Norwegian club IK Start, Lowe says that he is enjoying the environment and culture that Phoenix have created.

"Its a very professional environment. They take care of their players. The training facility, the coaches the philosophy that they have its A1, next level," Lowe told STAR Sports. "They separate themselves from the rest of the USL."

Phoenix needed to win their second consecutive penalty shoot-out of the play-offs to advance to the November 1 final against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, who defeated national teammate Devon Williams's Louisville City 2-1 in the eastern conference championship earlier on Saturday.

Lowe said he was happy with the togetherness of the squad since his arrival, and his main focus now is to help his team capture their first championship in franchise history.
