Bermuda’s Wells ‘hungry’ for more goals

Bermuda forward Nahki Wells says he is "hungry" for more goals after finding himself in a purple patch of form for Bristol City in the English Championship.

The 33-year-old endured an indifferent first half of the season but has now netted four times in as many games to bump his tally to eight.

His latest strike came last weekend when he scored an injury-time penalty to earn City a late 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town at Ashton Gate.

"I'm hungry, hungry for that [form] to continue. It's been a good April for me and the team and long may that continue," said Wells, who, in the past, spent three seasons at Huddersfield.

"As strikers, we're hungry, greedy, we always want more and that will never change. I'm happy to get another one, happy that it's an important goal for us and happy to keep the run going - that's the most important thing beyond the goals as an individual.

"We want to keep the run going, pick up another point and keep moving in the right direction."

City are now unbeaten in their last five games and produced a statement win last Wednesday by thrashing Blackburn Rovers 5-0 at home, with Wells firing in a double.

The southwest England outfit now lie 12th in the Championship on 58 points with only five games left in the season.

Wells said City were now bracing for a difficult trip away to Norwich City in their next game at the weekend but were also full of confidence.

"[We need] a little bit of rest which we deserve. We had a relentless schedule of course so [we need] a bit of rest and then get back in and get in training for that fixture," he said.

"It's a tough one of course, away to Norwich is never easy. It's one of the in-form sides in the division.

"[It's] a tough place to go from a history of going there and [they're] a good side and we go there full of confidence looking to get more points."
