God has helped me get over being raped

Dear Pastor,

I wrote to you sometime in 2019 about being raped at age eight, and I was telling you how hurt I felt and how it made me hate my mom.

But I got baptised and learnt to love her. I did not receive any counselling at the time and I now realise that because of that, I was becoming bitter and angry towards everyone and everything. I just want to encourage anyone who was raped to "deal with it".

I could understand that one could pray and fast but if you are comfortable, get help and talk about it because bitterness and anger can block your blessings. It is never easy but try to get all the necessary help. God loves you and don't worry, 'Purpose never dies'. Remember Pharaoh and Joseph's story. It's never easy, but trust God in the hardest situations and when God is ready to elevate you, nobody can stop it. Blessings.

I regret hearing that you were raped, but the good news is that you feel comfortable talking about it and you are doing well.

You are a strong young woman. You said you did not undergo therapy, but I would encourage you to make an appointment with a psychologist and discuss how you feel about your situation and what you can do to help other women who have faced similar situations. The Lord has been mighty good to you, keep strong.

You have come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and from him, you are gaining strength daily. I appreciate your letter. May the good Lord bless you. Please let me hear from you again. I will continue to pray for you.
