Not worried about being disabled and pregnant

April 16, 2024

Dear Pastor,

I am in my 30s and I am suffering from a disability. I have a boyfriend and he has got me pregnant.

Both of us are happy that we are expecting a child, but my relatives are asking me how we are going to manage. My boyfriend is a very caring man and I don't anticipate that he will not continue to be a responsible man. The doctor says that the pregnancy is doing well. I never thought that I would get pregnant, but it has happened and we are happy. When my father heard that I got pregnant, he called me and assured me that he would stand by me and help me financially. He also spoke to my boyfriend and told him that he should stand with me as a man. He assured him that he would not leave me, no matter what others may say. My sisters are not sympathetic, but they have children.

My boyfriend and I are planning that if everything goes well, we will get married. We are proud of each other. Both of us can support ourselves and our little child. We may have to employ a helper. I am short, but my boyfriend is tall. We hope that everything will go right with us when it is time for us to have our baby.

People stare at me when I am going to see my doctor, but my boyfriend is always with me, taking good care of me. We have already chosen names for the baby. Please wish us well.

O.F.

Dear O.F,

I am happy to know that you are in good health and that the baby is healthy.

I am also pleased to know that your boyfriend is giving you 100 per cent support. I regret hearing that your sisters have not been supportive. You did not say anything about your mother, but your father has assured you that he would stand by you and I believe that he would keep his word. You are very proud to be pregnant in spite of your disability.

I am sure your doctor is proud to have you as his patient. Take good care of yourself and after you have given birth, let me hear from you.
