Police imposters commit murder
Thugs posing as police yesterday shot and killed a man along Lincoln Avenue in Kingston.
Superintendent Howard Chambers, head of Kingston West Police Division, told THE STAR that men travelling in a white motor car identified themselves police, alighted from the vehicle and fired shots at a group of persons.
The incident took place about 1:40 a.m.
Resident told THE STAR that the hoodlums shouted the words, "Police, don't move!" before shooting.
One man, Noel Bradford, 19, died while two others were injured during the attack.
Chambers, when asked by THE STAR about the thugs posing as police to commit crime, said its not something that is on the rise in his division.
"I don't see a lot of it in my division as because of the size everybody knows everybody. I know of the history in other divisions with men using police terminology to commit crime just like last night," Chambers said.
