Aidonia hurt by crew member's death

Members of Aidonia's 4th Generation camp are today mourning the loss of one of its own as the artiste's official videographer, Lamar 'Peakstate' Doukie, has died.

The Constabulary Communication Unit reported that 23-year-old Lamar Doukie of Aires Avenue in Smokeyvale, St. Andrew died as a result of injuries he received in a fatal collision on the Braco main road in Trelawny on April 11.

The Rio Bueno Police said Doukie was a passenger in a Toyota Isis motorcar when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided into a tree. The occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital where Doukie was pronounced dead.

Aidonia's publicist, Raymond 'Shadow' Small, told the STAR that Doukie was accompanying Aidonia to a football match in Monteg Bay.

"They were travelling in a convoy. The car that met in the accident was a brown Toyota Isis and there were six persons in the vehicle including Doukie. Upon reaching Braco, Trelawny one of the tires on the car blew out and the car skidded off the road, hit an embankment and landed in a ditch."

Shadow said Aidonia and other members of his team are still shaken up .

"Everybody is still very shaken up about the whole incident including Aidonia," he said. "Even though he was not on the scene when the accident occurred, because his car was travelling ahead of the others, when he heard he turned back immediately to assist in any way that he could.

He made sure everyone was taken to the hospital and ensured that they received treatment when they got there."

The entertainer is not handling the death well.

"He is really hurt by it. This was someone that was extremely close to him and he's so shaken up thinking about how they were on their way to the match to have fun, and within a moment's notice, tragedy struck."

Shadow said the artiste has an European tour this month end but, with the recent event, is talking with the tour's organisers on how best to move forward.
