‘Sauce Boss’ tries his hand at pizza making

July 26, 2019

It was a 'saucy' affair at Pizza Hut, New Kingston, on Wednesday as Kemar Highcon showed off his pizza-making abilities.

Highcon, whose given name is Kemar Woodfine, is one of the newcomers to the dancehall scene, but has been recently making waves in the corporate sphere with endorsement deals from fast-food chain Pizza Hut and telecommunications provider Digicel.

The endorsement from Pizza Hut came earlier this year after Highcon's hit single, So Saucy, began making its rounds on various social media and streaming platforms.

Highcon told THE WEEKEND STAR that though he is a pizza lover, making his own was something he has never tried. The 'Sauce Boss', whose favourite pizza toppings are pepperoni, bacon, and pineapple, got the chance to make his own pepperoni pizza. His face lit up with excitement as he began spreading the sauce on the pizza dough.

"Where do I apply?" a laughing Highcon said as he added the pepperoni to his pizza.

Highcon, though not having the opportunity to visit the kitchen, strutted across the floors of Pizza Hut to deliver his pizza for baking.

"It was a great experience, it was fun, and it really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be," Highcon said.

"I will definitely be making pizza at home; and I feel like you can make your own sauce, it doesn't necessarily have to be tomato sauce, you can add your own twist and make your own sauce," he continued, while laughing.

The pizza making came as a part of Highcon's official welcome to the Pizza Hut family. In addition to the pizza preparation, he received a 'saucy' goody bag from the company, which consisted of a customised, Sauce Boss-branded items, including a blazer, a pin, stainless steel water bottle, a hat and Pizza Hut vouchers.
