It's settled, Badda Bling and his Di Unit team is the top sound system in Portmore.

This, after they emphatically dismissed Flava Unit in the final of the Portmore Sound System clash at the HD Entertainment Centre in Bayside, Portmore, last Friday.

Di Unit walked away with $1 million, a trophy and bragging rights as the best in the Sunshine City.

It was a clash for the ages as the trio of Badda Bling, Tall Boss, and Little Richie split from Flava Unit to form their own sound system Di Unit and it's the first time they clashed since their departure.

Badda Bling, given name Mathew Mothersill, called it a historical moment for Portmore and the clash world at large. He believes they held all the keys for victory.

"I could name many keys that aid the process to victory, one of which is knowing our opponents 'dub box' inside out because most of their songs were voiced by Mr Davey Scott (Tall Boss). However, the main reasons were our preparation. We worked hard as a team to get ourselves ready," he said.

Creditable opponents

"Being a part of clashes over the years, going up against creditable opponents, really helped to build my clash character, which was lacking in my opponent. So our experience in clashes brought us the victory."

He said he would not take all the praises for the victory, 'Bigging up' the entire Di Unit team of Niney, DJ Jerome, Likkle Rich and Tall Boss and New Kidz.

"The victory is also dedicated to the people of Portmore, the fans who never stop supporting me, supporting us over the years and even during the transition," Badda Bling said.
