When Dovey Magnum hosted her all-female stage show last December, fellow artiste Ishawna was billed as one of the headline acts.

The Equal Rights singer ended up being a no-show and at the time, her absence was explained as a ‘misunderstanding’ between both artistes.

Rumours of an impending feud began circulating but were put to rest this January when Dovey told THE STAR she had no time for beefs. Fast-forward a few months and the war is definitely on. The showdown, which has apparently been brewing for months, finally unfolded on social media on Tuesday as both artistes exchanged verbal blows via Instagram.

Shots were fired first by Ishawna who took to her page to ask ‘What is a juju p***y?’, making reference to the popular term coined by Dovey.

With a definition retrieved from the Urban Dictionary online, Ishawna suggests that the definition says the term refers to a yeast-infected vagina.

It wasn’t long before Dovey lashed back with her own definition gathered from the same source.

In her definition, the Bawl Out singer said the term referred to ‘a vagina full of luck’ and one that is extra moist and ‘gummy’.

She posted the definition with the caption “b!tc&e% be backward A*@. Better the hoe did stay wid Foota and continue with a foot forward inna life.” The back and forth continued well into the night.

Dovey posted a video of Ishawna vibing to Bawl Out, while Ishawna posted a video of an old interview in which Dovey dubs Ishawna her artiste who “even when she’s wrong, she right, because me just love her attitude, her style, her energy.”

When contacted by THE STAR, the management for both artistes declined to comment on the social media squabble.

But despite them remaining tight-lipped with the media, fans are expecting the spat to continue especially with Dovey having already released a song seemingly geared at Ishawna.

Labelling herself the ‘female Shella’, Dovey sings of her readiness for the lyrical war should it unfold.

However, following the song’s release, some social media users are asking Dovey to hold off on a lyrical confrontation with Ishawna.

Bringing up Ishawna’s last lyrical battle with Danielle D.I., some believe ‘Ms Legendary’ (Ishawna’s moniker) is way too brutal in war and should not be contested.

“Please remember what happened to D.I when she tried. Please just save yourself and leave her alone,” one user commented.

“Dovey you shoulda neva start diss track war with Ishawna, we all saw how she made D.I. disappear. U bruk war with this, I wish u the best of luck,” another wrote.
