International superstar Rick Ross is set for an epic return to the stage in Jamaica, as he is set to perform at VaCae Weekend over the Easter weekend.

The Legend rapper will line up alongside the likes of Beenie Man, Gyptian and Ding Dong, who are all set to excite fans during the party weekend that has been dubbed 'Easter is the new summer'.

The events, which include Pan di Plaza, Stictly2K and Sandz, will run from April 7 to April 10 at a number of locations across Ocho Rios in St Ann.

Andrew Ellis, CEO of Supreme Team Limited, said his team is ready to deliver top-class entertainment to partygoers over the period.

"Jamaica is the party capital of the world, whether we like to admit it or not. People party every day in Jamaica, multiple times. Plus, it's the holiday, people have been working hard, so we're just providing a place for them to unwind and have a good time. We're looking forward to it," Ellis said.

VaCae Weekend has been endorsed by the Ministry of Entertainment. Howard McIntosh, chairman of the Entertainment Advisory Board (an entity within the ministry), reasoned that the sector is a critical driver of economic growth on the island.

"Over the last couple of years, the events industry has undergone significant losses. When we looked at it in 2019, what we call the festival economy contributed about $20 to $30 billion to the Jamaican economy annually. That is significant," McIntosh said.

McIntosh was speaking on behalf of the portfolio minister Olivia Grange at the launch of this year's event, which was held at Volkswagen Jamaica showroom on Old Hope Road in St Andrew on Wednesday.

Supreme Team said it will be delivering high-quality entertainment to patrons on Easter weekend.

"The entertainment angle of the show is one we are try to keep as diverse as possible. We want people to feel like no matter who they are, or what music you like, there is something there for you. Whether it be DJ or artiste, there is something you love," the promoters said, promising patrons the experience of a lifetime.
