Kashu ready to dominate in 2025
Dancehall deejay Kashu says he is ready to dominate the industry following a successful 2024 in music.
The hard-hitting lyricist gained traction following the release of Who Do Dah Body Deh and Mek Good songs that were produced by US-based producer DJ RoH.
"Especially Who Do Dah Body Deh, from mi born mi never get so much love for a song. Right now in Africa, St Maarten, and here in America, the song is one of the hottest dancehall tracks," a jubilant Kashu said.
The songs have also been getting heavy rotations on several local radio stations, prompting Kashu, who is also a fashion designer, to look ahead with great optimism.
"I am looking to shoot a music video for Mek Good; it is a sequel to Who Duh Dah Body Deh and the vibes surrounding both songs are good. Right now I am focused on next year, to ensure I can continue this momentum," said the former Vere Technical High School student.
The father of four also shared that he is gearing up to release a new track entitled Push It Out, which was produced jointly by his Music + Fashion label and Top Lane Records.
"That song will be released in early 2025. They say don't change the formula if it is working, so my aim is to continue delivering songs for the ladies because this year was a very good one for me musically speaking," Kashu said.
The deejay, born Daren Williams, hails from Toll Gate in May Pen, Clarendon.
