Ity and Fancy Cat ready for Christmas Comedy Cook-Up

The highly anticipated 21st annual staging of the Christmas Comedy Cook-Up will take place this Boxing Day, at The Jamaica Pegasus ballroom in New Kingston.

Comedy fans will be in for a treat as the iconic duo, Ity and Fancy Cat, are joined by a stellar lineup of comedians, including Johnny Daley, Pretty Boy Floyd, Dahlia Harris, Curley Roberts, Kathy Grant, Leighton Smith, Owen 'Blakka' Ellis, Florida-based comedian St Hope, and the dynamic duo themselves.

This year, the event partners with the charity organisation Operation Love to extend the spirit of giving beyond the stage and provide much-needed support to those in need.

Organiser Ian 'Ity' Ellis expressed his excitement about the upcoming show, calling it a must-see for comedy lovers.

"It has really become a staple; they call it the comedy Sting. You can hardly find so many top comedians in one place. The Christmas Comedy Cook-Up is always a great way to celebrate the holiday season. It's an event of laughter and fun, a great de-stresser. The best part is that our event is family-oriented, so there is something for everyone to enjoy," Ity shared.

Ity also explained the decision to partner with Operation Love, led by Celia Steele, noting how moved he has been by the charity's unwavering commitment to helping the homeless in Jamaica.

"I was moved by her benevolence and consistency. Every year, even without sales, marketing, or sponsorship, she does it. This year we are just trying to help her feed as many people as possible. She has been doing this since 2005; her 11-year-old son was helping before he could even walk, and now he is an integral part of the initiative," Ity said.

Known for its diverse mix of comedic styles and performances, the Christmas Comedy Cook-Up is a crowd favourite. Ity promised the audience "will be laughing non-stop" and assured them that the show will start on time at 7:30 p.m.

"The energy is going to be electric, and the excitement is palpable. You don't want to miss this event!" he declared.
