Jamal setting trends with EP

December 24, 2024

Dancehall artiste Jamal is basking in the success of his recently dropped EP, ' RATED D For Dunce'. Containing eight tracks, the project officially dropped on December 14 and was produced by Dario MAGiX.

"This one is for the fans; it's about having the bragging rights to call yourself out, to first accept your flaws and move on with your life, becoming great regardless of your status or where you started," the artiste highlighted. "I believe that everyone deserves a second chance as long as they are willing to achieve their goals."

The project is a short version of the forthcoming RATED D album, which is influenced by the 'Fully Dunce' trend that exploded in the dancehall space in 2019. Pioneering this trend, it was only fitting and timely for Jamal to drop this project.

A music lover since birth, Jamal has officially been putting out music of his own since 2018, with his debut album dropping in 2024.

"My lifestyle and music are the same - everything 'Fully Dunce.' I do trap-dancehall, not 'chop dancehall'. There is a big difference, because along with one of the trap-dancehall's pioneers, Dario MAGiX, we are creating a new genre and I am glad to be a part of the future. I am happy to see that a country youth from St Elizabeth can maintain such influence in dancehall, and the slangs and style can create avenues for revenue," the artiste said.
