Man accused of breaking into car remanded

November 27, 2015

A man accused of stealing a number of items from a motor vehicle, damaging it in the process, was ordered remanded when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Charged with simple larceny and malicious destruction of property is Huvan Facey, who pleaded not guilty to both offences.

Allegations are that on the day of the incident, the accused man reportedly broke into the male complainant's vehicle making off with a CD player, a DVD player, a preamplifier, two bottles of cologne, and a pair of eyeglasses.

It is said that following checks made by the police, the items were found in Facey's possession.

He was subsequently arrested and charged. In court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the accused man further remanded.

He is to return to court on November 30 pending a mention hearing.
