RM remands speaker box thief
A man accused of breaking into a shop and making off with several items was ordered further remanded when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court on Tuesday.
Charged with shop breaking and larceny is 24-year-old Oshane Kelly of a Red Hills Road, St Andrew address. He pleaded guilty to the offence.
Allegations are that on the day of the incident, the accused man reportedly broke into the shop, the property of the complainant, and made off with two speaker boxes valued at $20,000. It is said that Kelly was seen making a hasty retreat from the shop with the two items in hand, at which point an alarm was made.
Two security guards reportedly saw Kelly attempting to make his getaway on foot when they accosted him. He was subsequently held and handed over to police officers, who were quick on the scene. He was arrested and charged.
Kelly is reportedly being held at the Constant Spring Police Station.
In court, Senior RM Judith Pusey ordered the accused further remanded until January 28 pending sentencing.
