Jamaican grateful for new home

February 05, 2016

A Jamaican man residing in Mandeville is counting his blessings after receiving a new home from the Peru Community Church's Jamaica Mission group.

Dwight Pryce, a father of two, is said to have helped builders with construction every day up until completion last month.

According to www.pressrepublican.com, the one-room structure made out of wood measures roughly 12 by 16 feet on a piece of land which already houses two other structures owned by his brother and nephew.

The structure does not have a bathroom or kitchen, but Pryce intends to make the additions in time to come. Having shelter for his two children was his top priority, he said.

In the absence of the children's mother, Pryce looks to the new year with great hope, having improved his living conditions, moving from living in one room of a family member's house.
