Prisoner remanded for wounding cellmate
A dispute between two men while in police lock-up resulted in one suffering from injuries and the other answering to wounding charges when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Charged with unlawful wounding is Kevin Reid, who pleaded not guilty to the offence.
It is alleged that on the day of the incident, the accused and the complainant were both being housed in a cell in the Kingston Central police lock-up when an argument developed between them.
It is said that during the altercation, Reid wounded the complainant.
In court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered Reid further remanded until April 13 pending a mention hearing, at which time an outstanding medical report is expected to be made available.
