Police investigate Trelawny crash

The Falmouth police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two more persons who succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Trelawny yesterday.

A total of six persons have died in vehicular crashes in the parish between last Wednesday and yesterday.

The most recent victims have been identified as 35-year-old Oliver Forde, a handyman of Duncans Hill, Trelawny, and 59-year-old Phoebe Williamson Daley, of Albion Heights Crescent in Montego Bay, St James.

"It is coincidental that we would have these many deaths within such a short space of time, and I want to express condolences on the behalf of the force to the families affected," Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, head of the Police Traffic Division, told THE STAR.

"To avoid others, we are saying to all our road users to exercise due care and caution. Stay within the prescribed speed limit and avoid improper overtaking."

On April 11, 23-year-old Lamar Doukie of Aires Avenue in Smokey Vale, St Andrew, was killed in a crash on the Braco main road.

Five days earlier, 41-year-old Dwight Sutton, 23-year-old Janice Brown, and 20-year-old Keno Williams, all of Trelawny addresses, were killed when a vehicle they were travelling crashed into a tractor along the Falmouth bypass.
