Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

An 87-year-old Jamaican national has created waves in New York after successfully earning a bachelor's degree in liberal studies in May at Medgar Evers College, making him the oldest degree recipient in the CUNY system for 2016.

A native of Kingston, Hubert Evans had a full-time job as he pursued his degree. He has three generations of offsprings, all of who are nothing short of proud of him. He is a father of seven, grandfather to 11, and great-grandfather of five; but the one thing he didn't have was a bachelor's degree, until now.

According to Evans, his associate degree was not quite as challenging as it was when completing his bachelor's. Evans has since been honoured by the school.
