Manchester accident claims life

The Manchester police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an accident in which one man died and seven others were injured in the parish yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Roydel Shirley.

Reports are that on July 1 at approximately 7 a.m., a truck travelling along a section of the Pen Hill main road in the parish collided with another during a botched overtake. The truck overturned into a nearby house injuring seven occupants.

It is said that Shirley was operating the truck that overturned on the house.

The occupants of the house were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

Investigations continue.
