Male killed while trying to buy 'Yeng Yeng'

Following the daylight murder, the car that the men drove to buy the bikes was seen parked in the middle of the road.

A Kingston man was shot and killed on Rousseau Road within the vicinity of Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13, late yesterday morning.

The dead man has been identified as 22-year-old Darnel Gayle of Brotherton Avenue, Kingston 13.

According to the police, Gayle and his friend, who is now nursing gunshot wounds at the Kingston Public Hospital, were lured into the area by their attackers to buy two motor bikes.

When they tried to make the transaction, the assailants tried to rob them of their money. When they resisted, the men pulled their firearms and opened fire, hitting both men.

According to a man who works at an establishment along the road, the injured man was seen running towards Lyndhurst Road, shouting: "Mi get shot, and dem kill mi friend."

When THE STAR arrived at the scene, the car and two motor bikes, known as 'Yeng Yeng', were seen.

Residents along Rousseau Road are pointing fingers at motorbike riders from Maxfield Avenue.

The residents claim that the riders are responsible for the spate of robberies in the area.

"A dem boy deh from down there a do them something deh," a resident said.
