Teen dies after being attacked in home invasion

A teenager girl died on Thursday after being assaulted at her Corporate Area home earlier in the day.

Sources say the teen, who reportedly sustained a chop wound in the head, was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Residents have been reluctant to speak about the matter, citing fears linked to ongoing tensions in the area. Sources indicated to THE WEEKEND STAR that the teen was home alone at the time of the incident. A disturbing video reviewed by the news team shows the girl lying semi-nude in bed with a head wound. It appears the perpetrator, who is still on the run, also assaulted a man while escaping.

"The rain come down and everybody go in, but the man weh get the lick inna him head go up deh go check cause people notice a man a walk and a check doors," said one resident.

Another person shared, "Mi see somebody a run go so, but mi never know wah gwaan." The man was seen bleeding from his ears and nose.

"Mi see him a come and a hold him head. A that time him tell me say one man lick him inna him head with a hammer," one bystander added. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

"Look how mi coulda lose mi friend. A right here so we deh before him go up deh go look if him cousin alright," the person said.

Up to press time, the police's Corporate Communications Network stated that it was aware of the incident but had not yet received a full report from investigators.
