Pregnant after secret fling with friend - Woman desperate to know child’s father

February 07, 2025

Amy* is living a nightmare -- trapped in a web of guilt and confusion after a steamy affair that left her pregnant, with no clue about the father of her child. Now, with her one-year-old baby in tow, she's desperate to uncover the shocking truth.

In her 20s, Amy's world was turned upside down when her five-month-old relationship with John* ended abruptly. But just two weeks later, Amy sought solace in the arms of her long-time friend, Larry*. One thing led to another, and before she knew it, they ended up in bed.

A month after their encounter, Amy discovered she was pregnant -- but there was one problem, she has no idea who the father is.

With a heavy heart, Amy told John that she was with child, but he immediately dismissed her and told her he had no interest in caring for the child.

"Him tell mi seh di pickney is not his, and it did mek mi feel a way, because even though things did gwan wid me and Larry, mi did always have a strong feeling seh him (John) a di father," Amy shared.

Discouraged and broken-hearted, once again Amy turned to Larry, who welcomed her with open arms and accepted the child as his. Still, Amy harbours a lot of doubts. In her eyes, her daughter shares a striking resemblance to John.

"Mi cry 'bout it day and night because mi feel guilty bad. Is a good man, and mi just feel like him a nuh the father, and it nuh fair to him," she confessed.

"She look just like him (John), she have him nose and all him gap [teeth]. Even him see har and seh it, but him tell mi seh resemblance don't mean a thing, because a DNA test alone a guh mek him sure seh him a the father," Amy explained.

Amy has not told Larry, who now lives in North America, that she may have given him a 'jacket'.

"People around mi keep telling mi and him seh she resembles him madda, so him nuh suspect nothing," she said.

She also told THE STAR that although Larry has been supportive, sending money monthly for her daughter, she wants the child to grow up knowing her true father.

"Mi nah tell nuh lie, him tek care a har. But mi nuh wah she grow up thinking him a har father, and then years dung di line dem find out something different," said Amy.

Meanwhile, John is fuming with anger after discovering that his former lover, Amy, registered her child under another man's name -- despite not knowing who the real father is.

"Weh she duh nuh right," an outraged John told THE STAR, making it clear that he won't claim the child unless a DNA test proves he is the father.

"She have the baby and know seh she nuh know who a the father, and a talk 'bout she put the baby in a the wrong name. Why she never register the baby in a fi har name? How she expect me to take care of a child in a next man name?" he raged.

John, who is already a father to 11 other children -- 10 boys and one girl -- made it clear that if the child is his, things need to change.

"All mi kids dem have mi name, suh if a mine mi a guh need har fi tek that man name off and give her mi name. Suh if and when mi dead, whatever likkle mi leave can split up between all a mi children them," he declared.

Despite his doubts, John admitted that he has still given Amy money for the child --not out of a sense of responsibility, but because she asked.

"When she ask mi, mi will give her something, but not because mi think the child is mine, but just because she ask," he revealed, adding that he has only seen the child twice and hasn't even bothered to check for a resemblance.

For now, John refuses to get emotionally invested until science confirms the truth. "Looks don't mean anything. A DNA test alone can prove if mi a di father," he insisted.

In a groundbreaking partnership with Polygenics Consulting, THE STAR is offering free paternity testing to Amy's child and John as part of an exciting new initiative. They are the first of 12 families to benefit from this six-month programme, aimed at solving paternity mysteries. The highly anticipated results will be unveiled in next weekend's explosive edition of THE WEEKEND STAR.

Stay tuned for the shocking truth!
