Man sentenced for stabbing housemate
December 07, 2017
A 27-year-old man was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment yesterday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court after he pleaded guilty to using a knife to stab his housemate multiple times.
Allegations are that on November 16, Richard Barr used a knife to stab his elderly housemate because he was making noise late in the night.
When Presiding Judge Judith Pusey asked Barr why he committed the act, he said: "Him always a knock pot in a di middle night and mi always a tell him to stop."
Pusey said that the only reason Barr didn't get the maximum punishment was because he pleaded guilty.
