St Catherine man arrested, charged for sexual assault

The police in St Catherine have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man from Linstead in the parish after he allegedly sexually assault a mentally challenged woman. 

According to police reports, on Saturday, March 30, the victim was at her home when the accused man, who will not be named to protect the victim's identity, entered the her home with a machete. 

It is further reported that the accused took the woman to nearby bushes, where he sexually assaulted her and then slap her in the face with the machete. The victim sustained a cut to the face. 

The assaulter than escaped the area on foot, but was later arrested after being pointed out by the victim. He was subsequently charged with abduction, rape, buggery, grievous sexual assault and unlawful wounding.  

His court date is being finalised.
