Teen on triple murder charge

A teenager has been arrested and charged for a triple murder that took place along Windward Road in Kingston on May 13.

The teen, Richard Jonas, 18, also answers to the names 'Monkey Man' and 'Jellani'. He has been accused of killing 23-year-old Sabian Clarke of Windward Road, 20-year-old Troy Dennis of Wellington Street, and 15-year-old Marquice Morgan of Lloyd Road, all in Kingston.

According to the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the men were gathered in a yard when armed men alighted from a motor car and opened gunfire hitting them. The incident took place about 3:10 p.m.

The police said Jonas was positively identified as one of five of the armed men who participated in the shooting. He was subsequently charged by detectives assigned to the Major Investigations Division. He has been charged with three counts of murder, wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and conspiracy to commit murder.
